What is Days Without Strife?
Days Without Strife is a long form game of strategy, diplomacy, and intrigue where up to 22 players compete over 5 days of real time as either 3 player Factions vying for control of the continent or as solo Wildcards with their own unique abilities and agendas in this asynchronous game that plays in the background of your life.
Inspired by the classic game of Diplomacy, as well as more modern takes on the genre such as Subterfuge, Days Without Strife is a truly unique experience. It plays like a board game on a grand scale, and the interactions between the Factions and Wildcards creates a fascinating and complex ecosystem of interconnected events. In contrast to the reputation of games in this genre, this game is meant to be welcoming and playable by all kinds of players, from the clever and cutthroat to the calm and considered, with a current record of zero friendships ruined. In this ecosystem, everyone has a role to play.
It's been one of my longest running projects, and this next playtest in June has been a long time coming. I'm very excited to see how it all shakes out!
Alright, I'm in! How do I play?
This project is still under active development and the next playtest will be this upcoming June, with the exact dates still to be decided.

I am a returning playtester, what's changed?
There have been many refinements to design, but the core is still the same. I'm excited to share the new changes to Telegrams and some of the updates to the classic Wildcards, but the full rules will have to wait for right now. I'll try to make them available a bit earlier this time.
However, the big new change is that this version has been rebuilt from scratch and will not be web-based this time. Instead, I've developed a downloadable Windows app, and it looks and plays a lot nicer now!
Note: If you are afraid this means you won't be able to play, please contact me directly (with my info above) and we'll see what we can do about that.
This playtest will be a sort of "Standard Game" so I can be sure the foundation of the mechanics are solid, so some of the wackier ideas from past playtests won't be present. Rest assured that those ideas haven't gone anywhere, they are just on the bench for now, and I have big plans for the future!
